    Dr. Susan Keeffe, instructor for "Differentiating Instruction for Special Education Students in the Regular Classroom":

    Dr. Susan D. Keeffe currently works as a Special Education Administrator for the West Contra Costa Unified School District. She supervises special education programs including nonpublic schools, compliance, and development of the Local Plan for Special Education. Dr. Keeffe has taught at St. Mary's College in Moraga and Chapman University. She is a frequent workshop presenter and has been a guest speaker at St. Mary's College and the University of San Francisco.

    Dr. Keeffe holds credentials in regular and special education, a Master's Degree in Special Education, and a Doctorate in Education from the University of San Francisco. Her honors include WCCUSD's Teacher of the Year, ACDL's (Adults and Children with Learning and Developmental Disabilities) Educator of the Year, and inclusion in California's "Who's Who." Dr. Keeffe has been a Student Teacher Supervisor for St. Mary's College and the University of San Francisco.

    Barbara Howell, instructor, "NCLB Compliance Instructional Assistant Test Prep/Exam Review":

    Barbara Howell, a certified English as a Second Language (ESL) instructor, is an ESL teacher in Oakland. Prior to this she was an instructor for the Literacy for Every Adult Project (LEAP), the City of Richmond's literacy program. Here she taught basic literacy, Adult Basic Skills, and ESL.

    Ms. Howell specializes in Family Literacy. Currently, she is a Community-Based English Tutoring (CBET) instructor for Oakland Adult Education. Ms. Howell received her B.A. in History from the University of California at Berkeley in 1989. After graduating, she traveled to Bangladesh where she volunteered as an aid worker for six months. Upon her return she worked as an assistant editor for the University of California Press for five years.

    Ms. Howell has one daughter and lives in Richmond.
