This course is designed to develop teacher skills in creating a positive, inclusive classroom for all students. Each teacher will learn about the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) as well as ways to access local provisions related to students who are gifted and talented (GATE). This course will assist teachers in developing instructional strategies that will provide all students with appropriate learning opportunities. Teachers will learn the importance of collaboration in developing a positive school climate. A key component of this course involves the development, implementation and reflection on a lesson using differentiated instructional strategies.

Note: Your final course project requires a classroom environment to complete. If you take this course during a time when class is not in session, please work with your instructor to complete the assignment when you can teach the lesson plan you've developed.
